Self-Motivation is an Attitude!

I am Self-Motivated — I take ACTION daily in my business!

Self-motivation is deliberately chosen and developed!

You can be a self-starter in your business. Not only is this possible, it is your responsibility! (Sorry, we cannot do this for you.)

You cannot stand around and wait for someone else to push you into the realization of your goals.

Clearly Defined Goals Generate Self-Motivation!

When you are both self-motivated and goal-directed, you will increase results 100% to 1,000%. You magnetize the results you seek.

Motivation . . . is a desire held in expectation with the belief that it will be realized (membership sales or recruits).

Writing out a plan of action helps you to discover ways to reawaken and regenerate self-motivation and put it to work. (Results: More sales and more recruits!)

Opportunities are always captured quickly by someone who understands self-motivation. GO FOR IT!

Self-motivated people take action and seize the day! (They also have the habit of doing this daily!)

Self-motivated salespeople make commitments . . . and then they deliver! This takes activity!

Actualize Your Primary Goal

The word ‘actualize’ means to make actual, to make real. And to see something actualized requires action. As much as we’d like our dreams to be realized through virtually no effort at all on our part, that’s not the way it works. (And we wouldn’t appreciate it as much if we did nothing to achieve our goals). To have everything we want in life we have to decide what it is that we really want, make a plan and take action.

To transform our goals from lofty dreams to true-blue reality means that we first have to decide on a primary goal. We can have as many things as we want, make our goal list as long as we desire, but to make our goals ‘actual’ we must concentrate on them one at a time.

Once we have our primary goal, the one we want more than anything else; then we have to create a plan. That plan may include researching our goal, looking for classes to take, visiting a foreign country or asking about an internship with a company or individual. Creating a goal-achieving plan is like planning a road trip. If you know your eventual destination, you just need to mark a route to get there. It may take a while to get where you want to go, or you could arrive there next week. It all depends on what your number one goal is.

The last step is to follow the plan you’ve created by taking action! If you have 40 steps in your plan, then decide that you’re going to accomplish one or two steps a day until you have what you want. It sounds simple, I know. And it is simple. The hardest part of having what you want is figuring out what you want and deciding your going to do it. The rest is just taking action.

To overcome your fear of goal setting, just take action.

How to Squeeze the Most Out of Your Time

How do you start your day? Years ago I started planning mine by writing everything down I would have to do, the night before. I found that drawing up your list the night before prompts your subconscious to work on your plans and goals while you sleep. When you wake up, you feel ready to tackle your challenges.

When prioritizing and planning your time, consider the following points:

• Key questions.
What is the highest value-added action I can do?
What can I, and only I, do that I’ve done well before to make a difference?
Why am I on the payroll?
The answers to these questions help identify all that needs to be done and in what order. That, in turn, will bolster personal productivity.

• Values.
Decide what’s important to you, and in what order. Make sure your values don’t conflict with work. Energy spent worrying diminishes your abilities.

• Consequences.
Every action has consequences – good and bad. Consider what rewards you’d reap by completing a task. Then, compare those rewards with the consequences of putting it aside. This process makes it easier to see which goals have a higher value.

• The Pareto Principle.
Vilfredo Pareto, a 19th-century engineer, argued that 20% of what you do accounts for 80% of the value. When considering the importance of a task, ask yourself whether it’s among the 20% that creates the most value.

• Urgency vs. Importance.
An unexpected phone call or a drop-in visitor may be urgent, but the consequences of dealing with either may not be important in the long run.
The urgent is other-oriented, it’s caused by someone else. Important things are self-directed and have the greatest value for you.

• The Limiting Step.
Standing between you and what you want to achieve is the limiting step. That’s the bottleneck that determines how quickly you can reach your goal. It’s important to identify that step and focus single-mindedly on getting that one thing done.

• A Written Plan.
Lists of goals, tasks and objectives are of no help unless they’re written. Putting your plans on paper makes a seemingly elusive goal more concrete. There’s a connection that takes place between the brain and the hand. When you don’t write it down, it’s fuzzy, but as you write it and revise it, it becomes clear.

• Visualization.
See yourself doing what you need to get done. Visualization trains the subconscious to focus on completing tasks. Say, for example, that you want to begin each morning by exercising. Visualizing yourself doing sit-ups and push-ups the night before conditions the mind to do those the next day. When you prime you mind, it wakes you up even before the alarm clock goes off.

Remember you are a winner and preparation goes a long way in helping you achieve all your goals.

Make the Most of Your Day!

When was the last time you complained that you had too much time on your hands? You probably cannot remember that far back. The truth is that most of us cannot squeeze into a 24-hour period all the items written on our daily planners. A common mistake most people make is to attempt to find time instead of make time!

How do you MAKE time?

FIRST, define your most important goals:

A burning desire to reach a specific goal motivates you to make time to take the required actions.

Write down specifically how you will use extra time. Will you spend it making personal calls, three-way calls, attending training meetings, making new contacts?

SECOND, chart your time:

Note how you spend each hour. Most time is wasted, not in hours, but in minutes. A bucket with a small hole in the bottom becomes just as empty as the one that is deliberately kicked over.

THIRD, organize your time to plug the time leaks:

Assume the attitude that every minute that does not work for you, works against you.

To make the most of your time, try these proven time savers:

* Examine the usual daily interruptions. See how many you can eliminate immediately, screen out, or delegate. Set aside a specific time for phoning people on your prospect list, making presentations, keeping up with the detail part of the job, attending training meetings, reading and sending emails and phone calls. These designated time blocks do not always work; emergencies occur, demanding flexibility in scheduling. But when you have a plan for organizing and investing your time, that extra hour of time each day will be available.

* Analyze your energy cycle. Determine when you tend to be at your best physically and mentally. Schedule challenging tasks during those times of peak performance and you will accomplish more in less time. I have more energy in the morning hours than I do in the afternoon hours, so I have always made the majority of my phone calls for sales appointments first thing in the morning. For some people it is just the opposite. They are evening people and work better in the evenings.

* Think about time the way you think about money. The more wisely you invest time, the greater the yield. Before you invest time in a given activity, ask yourself, “Is there something more profitable I could be doing?” And remember, making face-to-face contacts and presentations will ALWAYS be the most profitable thing you can do!!

Make the most of your life by making the most of every minute, every hour and every day!!

What Does it Take to Become Wealthy?

Imagine never worrying about money ever again. Allow yourself to get lost in this fantasy for a moment: your bills are always paid with ease, you own several beautiful homes, your kids are attending the top colleges, and the money just keeps rolling in quicker than you can spend it…

Did you get a clear image? Or did you starting thinking things like, “It’s silly to get lost in a fantasy,” or “That’s nice for someone else, but it won’t happen to me,” or even, “Who am I to think I could have that?” Some of us can more easily visualize our dreams than others, and when it comes to being wealthy, your ability to do this is a key factor in your success.

Absolutely Anyone Can Become a Millionaire

Anyone can become a millionaire. Yes, I mean anyone, including you. I don’t care how much debt you’re in, or your line of work. And, not just wealthy, but a millionaire. I know because I’m a wealth coach who specializes in doing just that: making people millionaires.

If you think you can’t become a millionaire, you won’t. But if you want to become wealthy, you’ll have to change your attitude and behavior when it comes to wealthy.

I cover the many aspects of this process in my book, The Millionaire Maker, but for now let’s just focus on the mental aspect. As essential first step in becoming a millionaire is the ability to open up your mind to the very real possibility that you can have whatever it is you dream of.

What would you do differently if you knew that you couldn’t fail?

Every circumstance you have in your life is the result of your thoughts, from which you base your behavior. When you believe you can succeed, you end up doing things differently.

Right now you probably have a lot of beliefs around why you can’t be wealthy. A large part of my work with my clients involves reconditioning their minds so that they can clearly see the abundance and wealth possibilities that constantly surround them.

The next step on the road to millions is creating a vision of wealth. This is where you write out specific financial goals you want in your life. I usually have my clients write out what they want by the end of a year’s time, so that their goals are measurable.

Your vision of wealth may include quitting your full-time job to start a new business, lowering your debt by half, or making $500 extra a month in passive income. It’s really up to you.

When you create this vision, you need to use what I call “unlimited thinking.” However, you also need to set goals that are realistic and do-able. This is where the help of a mentor or wealth coach is key. Such professionals will have a realistic sense of how far you can stretch your mind and still be able to achieve your yearly goals.

Lastly, you need to be patient. Becoming a millionaire does not happen overnight, it takes time. It also requires work and commitment. Millionaires are active creators of their futures, and they always have a plan. And although they ultimately expect to succeed, they don’t let failure (an inevitable challenge on the path to success) hold them back.

Your wealth is your choice. And the question is, would you rather dwell on what you don’t have and why you can’t have it, or spend your time creating what you do want?
